Amy! This is delicious and poignant and touched me deeply- the memory of school anticipation or dread[?] and the uncertainty that comes with being back with my barbarian brothers and sisters in school. I always found it weird. We pull memories from deep places. My mother in law passed this week at almost 97 and so pulled more memories up from the deep. It is fantastic and enlightening. And how we miss our fathers and mothers. When times get weird, [and were they not always weird?] a conversation with my father put some ground below my feet. I can still hear some of that language, wise and calm. There are smells arriving this time of year. It’s as if I can smell the approach of a school bus. We also have tomatoes on all flat surfaces. Thank you for this and I will share it with the sisters for it touches many things…big things. T.

I think you've captured how many of us feel at the moment. Here there's a chill and a different scent in the air. Autumn is on its way. Not ready yet though
